Always more to do than time to do it!
Today’s challenge is to start work on a weaving for which I have been given certain constraints – this is part of a workshop organised by the UKOnline Guild of WSD. Based on the card game Blackjack, I have drawn the following requirements: the weaving must be white with one colour; it must incorporate rags; it must have a large scale motif. These are all well outside my comfort zone so though I groaned to myself when I found what I would have to work with, it has also made me think – so much so that my brain hurts! – but I am beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Time to start working in my sketchbook.
I am also very aware that I have a crop of Japanese indigo that needs to be harvested before the frosts come. Once gathered, it will need immediate attention. I still have marigolds, weld, camomile and tansy flowering, though the golden rod is over for this year and that reminds me that the solar pots need emptying….
